Know Your Farmer
Ever wonder…
Where your produce comes from?
When it was harvested?
How it was grown?
Who handled it before you did?
Or, is it really “local,” like the label says?
Put all your worries aside, we have the answer for you.
At Patriot Farms you get the chance to connect with us, your farmers, and meet face to face.
We know what its like to want to look your farmer in the eye, and know where your food comes from.
When it comes to feeding your family, we know you want only the freshest, healthiest, most nutrient-dense, organically grown produce available.
After all, we want the same for our family, that’s why we eat what we grow.
Going into our ninth year of growing organic veggies, we are on a mission to change the way people eat, by empowering our local community to get to know their farmers.
Join us in building our community together!
Your Local Real Organic Farmers,
Brittany & Ansel
What is “Community Supported Agriculture” or “CSA”?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a beautiful partnership in which members pledge, up front, to help cover the anticipated costs of the farm’s production for a growing season, and in return receive a portion of the farm’s crops over the period of time specified in the agreement. Unlike simply purchasing food at a grocery store or market, as a member of Patriot Farms CSA, you receive many additional benefits!
• a weekly portion (or a “share”) of the farm’s harvest
• the chance to invest in your local agricultural economy
• the knowledge of how and where your food is grown
• a strong, active relationship with your farmers
• a chance to connect and learn from fellow CSA members
• information on how to eat with the seasons, store, preserve and enjoy your produce
• the opportunity to come visit our farm and connect with the land
Member/Farmer Shared Risk Agreement
As a member, you share in the abundance of our harvest, as well as in the RISKS that come with farming. We cannot stress this part enough! Although we have learned how to avoid or manage around most problems, it is likely that EVERY year, Mother Nature will throw us a curve-ball, and we may lose a crop to drought, flooding, disease, insect damage, hail, or the little Gnome people from the underworld. This may mean that you will not receive that particular affected crop for that season.
If this occurs, we will do our best to make up for the value of the share by substituting something else in its place or buying in a product from one of our organic partners. Another option is to make up the value of your share on the back end of the season as we attempt to quickly plant “quick-turn” crops to recoup our losses. We will communicate regularly to keep you informed of our Plan-B if the need arises, and we ask that you please be patient with us as we do our best to mitigate the consequences.
By purchasing a CSA Membership you agree to read and fully understand our handbook. Please download a copy below. We created this handbook as a guide for you to get the most out of your CSA experience.
How It Works - FAQ
When does it start?
We plan to start delivery the first week of June 2024. See initial pick-up dates below.

How many weeks does it last?
You will receive a weekly box for 15 weeks consecutively from your initial pick-up date.
Notice: There MAY be one week that we'll “pause” box delivery so that we can go away on vacation. Box delivery will simply continue the week after we return until we have provided 15 weeks. If we choose to exercise this option, we will let you know 2 weeks in advance. Thanks for your understanding.
How Does Pick-up Work?
When you arrive at your site…
Check in with the staff member at the check-in table(this will be a separate line at our booth at Emmaus Farmers’ Market). Give them your customer name. The staff person will help load your bags from our share totes which will stay with us each week. (Farm Store pick-up customers, you'll load your bags from the "market style” tables).
Visit the swap box table. If there’s something you don’t want from your main box, simply place it in the SWAP box and take something else out that looks good to you. Please be mindful of others behind you.
When you get home, unpack your share ASAP and get products into proper storage to promote shelf life! (See our BONUS! handy Guide to Veggie Storage, included with your membership)

What’s in the box?
In order to provide you with weekly quality produce, while still maintaining seasonality & diversity, our shares are based heavily on staple crops such as leafy greens(salad mixes, microgreens, & cooking greens) and root crops(carrots, beets, radishes, etc.). Throughout our 15-week CSA we do our best to add variety to each box as different veggies become available with the changing seasons. We continue to try and expand our operation to include more annual crops that do well in eastern Pennsylvania.
